Yesterday Emily Horowitz joined us for an hour-long conversation on registry hysterics. It couldn't have been a more appropriate time for this dialogue with Halloween right around the corner. It’s a holiday where we celebrate fear, satisfy our macabre craving for horror, and freely exercise our imagination. Unfortunately, when it comes to people on the registry we let our imaginations trump reason and justice. During the interview, we talked extensively about society's fear of registrants, and why cost-effective measures that center prevention, healing, and rehabilitation are needed.
Have a listen and let us know what you think! You can avoid the introduction if you skip ahead to the 5-minute mark. If you like what you hear, please take a moment and send an email to the station at firstname.lastname@example.org. They appreciate feedback from listeners.
P.S. Stay tuned for another edition on January 3, 2018 at 3PM EST. We’ll be back on the show again with Emily, and this time we’ll reflect on 2016 SORN reforms and offer recommendations for moving the conversation forward.
